Capturing Fresh 48 Memories! | NH Fresh 48 Photographer

Family, Newborn

Hey there, mama-to-be! Congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy! As a seasoned photographer specializing in Fresh 48 sessions, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing countless magical moments in those first 48 hours after birth. Trust me when I say, there’s nothing quite like it. I’m here to share some tips and tricks on how to capture and cherish those unforgettable memories.

What Exactly is Fresh 48 Photography?

So, what’s the deal with Fresh 48 photography? Well, it’s all about capturing those precious moments within the first 48 hours after your little one arrives. Think of it as a snapshot of those raw, unfiltered moments filled with love, wonder, and pure joy. From those tiny fingers and toes to the raw connection and between you and your baby. Fresh 48 sessions are all about capturing the magic of those early moments.

The Magic of Authentic Moments

One of the things I love most about Fresh 48 sessions is the authenticity. There’s no need for fancy props or elaborate setups. Just you, your baby, your family, and those first precious hours together. Trust me, the magic is in the little moments—the details! These are the moments you’ll want to treasure forever.

Getting Ready for Your Fresh 48 Session

Now, let’s talk prep. Or rather, let’s not! You see, Fresh 48s are documentary-style photography, so there’s no need for to brush your hair or put on a cute outfit. This session is designed to be stress-free, allowing you to simply relax and soak in those precious moments with your newborn. As your photographer, I’ll be there to observe and capture every beautiful moment, leaving you free to focus on cuddles, kisses, and all the other joys that come with welcoming a new addition to your family.

Preserving Those Precious Memories

Alright, let’s talk about preserving those precious Fresh 48 memories. One of the great things about my Fresh 48 sessions is that they’re all-inclusive. What does that mean? Well, it means you get all the edited images in a digital format to download, share, and print to your heart’s content. No need to worry about choosing just a handful of photos—every sweet moment captured during your session is yours to keep and cherish forever.

Whether you choose to create a stunning photo album to display on your coffee table or share a digital gallery with friends and family around the world, the important thing is that you have these memories at your fingertips whenever you need a little pick-me-up. Trust me, on those tough days when you’re knee-deep in dirty diapers and sleepless nights, scrolling through your Fresh 48 gallery will remind you of the incredible journey you’ve been on and remind you that it is all worth it.

Breaking Tradition: Is a First Look Before Your Wedding Ceremony Worth It? | NH Wedding Photographer

Wedding

So, you’re gearing up for the big day, with all the excitement and planning, you’re wondering: should we do a first look before the ceremony? Well, grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine – no judgment here!) and let’s dive into the pros and cons of this pre-ceremony tradition.

Let’s Talk First Looks: What is it?

What exactly is a first look? It’s pretty simple, really – it’s a private moment between you and your partner where you get to see each other dressed in your gown or tux before the ceremony. Think of it as a sneak peek before the main event.

The Pros: Why I Love First Looks

Capture Genuine Emotions

Picture this: it’s just you and your partner, standing together in a quiet room or secluded garden, soaking in the moment. Trust me, there’s nothing quite like seeing the love and excitement in their eyes as they lay eyes on you for the first time. It’s pure magic and sooo romantic.

Maximize Photography Time

As a photographer, I can’t stress this enough: more time equals more epic photos. Doing a first look means we can get all those swoon-worthy couple portraits out of the way early, leaving plenty of time for group shots and maybe even some time to enjoy cocktail hour.

Relieve Pre-Ceremony Jitters

Let’s be real – wedding day nerves are totally normal. But having a first look can help take the edge off. Seeing your partner before the ceremony can calm those butterflies and remind you why you’re doing this whole getting-married thing in the first place.

Bride and Groom First Look

Enhance the Wedding Day Timeline

A smooth timeline equals a stress-free day. Incorporating a first look into your schedule can help keep things running smoothly. Plus, it gives you more flexibility to enjoy every moment without feeling rushed.

The Cons: Things to Consider Before Taking the Plunge

Tradition and Superstition

Okay, let’s address the elephant in the room – some folks are all about tradition, and that’s totally cool. If seeing each other before the ceremony goes against your beliefs or superstitions, it’s worth giving it some serious thought.

Potential Loss of Surprise

I’ll admit it – there’s something undeniably magical about that moment when the doors swing open, and you lock eyes with your partner for the first time. Doing a first look runs the risk of taking away some of that surprise factor, so it’s something to keep in mind.

Time Crunch

Here’s the thing – wedding days are busy. Like, really busy. Adding a first look into the mix can sometimes make things feel even more hectic. If you’re already strapped for time, you might want to think twice about squeezing it in.

Missing Out on Cocktail Hour

Let’s not forget about cocktail hour – aka, the time to mingle, snack, and maybe even sneak in a quick dance or two. If you keep it traditional, you might find yourself cutting into this precious socializing time, so weigh your options carefully.

What to Consider Before Making Your Decision

Have a Heart-to-Heart

This is your day, so it’s crucial to have an open and honest conversation with your partner about what you both want. Talk about your expectations, your concerns, and how you envision the day unfolding.

Chat with Your Photographer

Believe me when I say your photographer is your wedding day MVP. I’ve seen it all and can offer valuable insights into whether a first look is right for you. Don’t be afraid to ask for a professional opinion.

Make It Your Own

At the end of the day, your wedding should be a reflection of you as a couple. Whether you choose to do a first look or not, the most important thing is that it feels true to who you are. So, go ahead – make it your own!

So, should you do a first look before your wedding ceremony? Well, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It all comes down to what feels right for you and your partner. Take some time to weigh the pros and cons, talk it out, and ultimately, trust your gut. After all, this day is all about celebrating your love and commitment to each other – however you choose to do it.

I hope this guide has helped shed some light on the first look debate and given you some food for thought as you plan your dream day. Remember, there’s no wrong answer here – just do what feels right for you, and everything else will fall into place. Happy planning!

I am an Artist.

Uncategorized

I vividly recall the moment back in college, standing behind a giant easel with a brush in one hand and a paint palette in the other. It hit me like a bolt of inspiration—I wanted to be an artist. Sure, my painting skills weren’t top-tier, and I still remember my professor gently nudging me toward exploring other mediums like graphic design. But my passion for art had always been there, from my early days in elementary school right through college.

One pivotal moment in high school stands out: when a family friend took me to work for the afternoon and introduced me to the world of Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. That was my first taste of digital art, and it was an unforgettable moment in my childhood.

After graduating from UNH with a degree in business administration, I took a bold step. Instead of pursuing a job in my field of study, I went back to school to pursue a certificate in graphic design. Soon after, I launched my career in graphic arts, designing everything from logos and business cards, to murals and vehicle graphics and even websites. But even then, I hesitated to call myself an artist. After all, I wasn’t the stereotypical painter with a canvas and brushes—I was using a mouse and keyboard.

Fast forward a few years, as a new mom, I picked up a camera to document the precious moments of my growing family. At first, I told myself that I was “just a mom with a camera,” still unable to see myself as an artist. But as I honed my photography skills and began taking on paid photography sessions—I started to realize my joy for this medium as well.

It wasn’t until I joined the Elena S Blair Mastermind coaching program recently that everything changed. Through Elena’s guidance and encouragement, I finally embraced the title of artist. She helped me see that artistry isn’t confined to a specific medium—it’s about the passion, the creativity, and the heart you pour into your craft.

So here I am, proudly proclaiming: I AM AN ARTIST. Whether I’m designing on a computer or capturing moments through my lens, I am creating art. And that, my friends, is something truly extraordinary.

Ultimate Guide to Choosing Your Dream Garden Wedding Venue! | NH Wedding Photographer

Wedding

So, you’re planning your big day, and you’ve got your heart set on a garden wedding. Well, let me tell you, you’re in for a treat! As a professional photographer who has had the pleasure of capturing a number of garden weddings, I can attest to the sheer beauty and romance of these outdoor celebrations. But before you say “I do” among the blooms, let’s dive into everything you need to know about finding your dream garden wedding venue.

Why Choose a Garden Wedding Venue?

The Appeal of Garden Weddings

There’s just something about the beauty of nature that adds an extra touch of romance to weddings. Picture this: exchanging vows under a canopy of trees, surrounded by fragrant blooms and lush greenery – it’s like something out of a fairytale! Garden venues offer a romantic backdrop for your special day, creating a romantic atmosphere that you and your guests will never forget.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Garden Wedding Venue

Finding Your Perfect Match

Now, let’s talk logistics. When it comes to choosing the right garden wedding venue, there are a few key factors to consider. First up, location. Think about how far you’re willing to travel and whether you want a venue that’s easily accessible for you and your guests. Next, consider the size and layout of the venue – is it spacious enough to accommodate your guest list and any special features you have in mind?

Types of Garden Wedding Venues

Exploring Your Options

Garden wedding venues come in all shapes and sizes, each offering its own unique charm. You’ve got your public botanical gardens and parks, with their meticulously manicured landscapes and breathtaking backdrops. Then there are private venues like The Gardens at Uncanoonuc Mountain, in Goffstown NH, where you can enjoy exclusive use of the grounds for a truly intimate celebration. And let’s not forget about vineyards and wineries like Birch Wood Vineyards in Derry NH, which offer a rustic yet elegant setting for garden weddings.

Tips for Finding Your Dream Garden Wedding Venue

Navigating the Search

So, how do you go about finding your dream garden wedding venue? Start by doing your research and making a list of potential venues that catch your eye. Then, schedule tours and site visits to get a feel for each venue in person. As you explore, pay attention to the scenery, amenities, and overall vibe of each location. And don’t be afraid to ask questions – after all, this is your big day!

Questions to Ask When Touring Wedding Venues

Getting Down to the Nitty-Gritty

When you’re touring wedding venues, it’s important to ask the right questions to ensure you’re making an informed decision. Find out about availability, capacity, and pricing options. Inquire about catering and bar services, as well as any restrictions or policies the venue may have. Be sure to ask if the venue has a backup or alternative location for your ceremony in case it rains. And don’t forget to ask about outdoor amenities and accommodations for your guests – after all, their comfort is key!

Adding Your Own Touch

Once you’ve found your dream garden wedding venue, it’s time to start personalizing! Get creative with floral arrangements and décor to enhance the natural beauty of the venue. ‘I Have No Preference’ vs. ‘I Don’t Care’ – Insights from a NH Wedding Photographer

Wedding

Before stepping into the role of a NH wedding photographer, I was once just a bride planning my own wedding. Naturally, I sought my fiancé’s input on various details, from the color of the tuxedo vest to the choice of invitation color, among other things. What truly resonated with me was his approach to answering my barrage of questions. Instead of responding with an indifferent “I don’t care,” which can sometimes come across negatively, he would use the phrase “I have no preference.” This subtle shift in wording made a significant difference in our discussions and didn’t make me feel that he didn’t care about our wedding.

Planning a wedding is an exhilarating journey, overflowing with countless decisions to be made, from selecting the perfect venue to finalizing the color scheme and every detail in between. With such an array of choices to consider, it’s natural for couples to experience moments of feeling overwhelmed or indecisive. However, the manner in which we articulate our preferences during this process can greatly influence the overall experience.

As a past bride and now a NH wedding photographer, we’ll delve into why expressing “I have no preference” is a more positive and constructive approach compared to simply stating “I don’t care” when confronted with wedding decisions.

Why Choosing ‘I Have No Preference’ Matters: Insights from a NH Wedding Photographer

Acknowledging Your Partner’s Input

Wedding planning is a collaborative effort between you and your partner, and it’s essential to value each other’s opinions and ideas. When you say “I have no preference,” you’re expressing openness to your partner’s suggestions while also indicating that you trust their judgment. This fosters a sense of teamwork and strengthens your relationship as you navigate the planning process together.

Maintaining a Positive Atmosphere

The phrase “I don’t care” can come across as dismissive or apathetic, potentially leading to misunderstandings or hurt feelings. On the other hand, saying “I have no preference” communicates a neutral stance without diminishing the importance of the decision at hand. This helps to maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere, allowing for constructive discussions and compromise when needed.

Respecting Others’ Contributions

Wedding planning often involves input from various vendors, family members, and friends, all of whom play a role in bringing your vision to life. By expressing that you have no preference, you’re demonstrating respect for their expertise and creative input. This encourages collaboration and fosters a sense of mutual respect among everyone involved in the planning process.

Embracing Flexibility

The phrase “I don’t care” can come across as dismissive or apathetic, potentially leading to misunderstandings or hurt feelings. On the other hand, saying “I have no preference” communicates a neutral stance without diminishing the importance of the decision at hand. This helps to maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere, allowing for constructive discussions and compromise when needed.

Celebrating Your Unique Journey

Your wedding day is a reflection of your love story and unique personalities as a couple. Embracing the mantra of “I have no preference” allows you to celebrate this journey authentically, honoring the things that truly matter to you while remaining open to new ideas and possibilities. Ultimately, it’s these meaningful moments and personal touches that will make your wedding day truly unforgettable.

Bride and Groom Kissing with vail blowing in wind

In conclusion, while wedding planning may come with its fair share of decisions to make, how we communicate our preferences can make all the difference. By saying “I have no preference” instead of “I don’t care,” you’re fostering collaboration, maintaining positivity, and embracing the journey with an open heart and mind. So as you embark on this exciting adventure together, remember to communicate with kindness, respect, and a spirit of flexibility, knowing that your wedding day will be a beautiful reflection of your love and partnership.
